• Timber building prospers even in Arctic climate

    The World’s northernmost timber building, a geological research station in Ny-Alesund, Spitsbergen, was put into operation this year. The observatory was built of 300 m3 of cross-laminated timber and 50 m3 of glue-laminated timber.

  • Europe’s tallest timber building nears completion

    A ten-storey hybrid timber and steel framed apartment building is on schedule to be complete in coming weeks.  It will become Europe’s tallest cross laminated timber-based (CLT) building and the joint tallest in the world, alongside Melbourne’s Forte Tower.
